{"id":10507,"date":"2026-11-03T17:06:53","date_gmt":"2026-11-03T13:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sam.uz.ua\/?page_id=10507"},"modified":"2026-11-03T17:08:34","modified_gmt":"2026-11-03T13:08:34","slug":"help-us-find-the-missing-issues-of-linux-format-2000","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sam.uz.ua\/?page_id=10507","title":{"rendered":"Help us find the missing issues of Linux Format (2000)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Help us find the missing issues of Linux Format (2000)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An appeal to Linux User Groups, magazine collectors and the Linux community worldwide<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are working on a bibliographic project dedicated to preserving the history of Linux publications, with particular attention to the early issues of Linux Format magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our first issue, Linux Format, May 2000 (Issue 001), has been documented and published in the SaM bibliographic catalogue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/sam.uz.ua\/?cat=310\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, we have not yet been able to locate a digital copy of Issue 002 or some of the subsequent issues published in 2000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We would be grateful for help from the international Linux community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps you are a long-time reader of Linux Format, a magazine collector, a member of a Linux User Group (LUG), or know someone who has kept a collection of the magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are particularly interested in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Digital copies (PDF) of Linux Format issues from 2000, especially Issue 002.<\/li><li>Information about libraries, archives or private collections holding these issues.<\/li><li>Photographs or scans of contents pages, covers and bibliographic details.<\/li><li>Contacts of collectors who might be willing to help us identify or access missing issues.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Even a small piece of information could help us make progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our aim is to document the contents of these early publications and preserve their bibliographic record for future readers and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We would be delighted to hear from anyone who can offer assistance or point us in the right direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you for helping preserve the history of Linux and its community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SaM Bibliographic Catalogue \u2014 Ukraine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/sam.uz.ua\/\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Help us find the missing issues of Linux Format (2000) An appeal to Linux User Groups, magazine collectors and the Linux community worldwide We are working on a bibliographic project dedicated to preserving the history of Linux publications, with particular attention to the early issues of Linux Format magazine.
